I was looking at old news of Venezuela and noticed how similar it looked to the recent US election. I wonder if much of democratic party's playbook was borrowed from Chavez.

So, essentially, Chavez has made racial equality, not only legally, but in substance, a major point on his agenda. And I would say, in my visits and conversations, that even among his middle— and upper middle-class opponents, there is definitely a factor here of race. This is going to be not only a class-polarized referendum, but the race issue is prominent
