What is it talking about?

Why does it say that 1 day is with the lord, as a thousand years, and a thousand years is as one day? Same with many stories throughout other religions. https://i.imgur.com/tIm2Q2w.png

Why is it, near the start of the bible, it says and the evening and the morning was the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th/6th and on the 7th God rested. How does a day start with evening, and the morning?
