The South has been great to me though. One thing that stands out is that people are normal here. They will chat with you and show kindness. The hospitality thing and helping one another are real. I like your intuition btw. We get plenty of rain here and the vegetation is lush. The tradeoff is that you will experience humidity like you have never known, but to me it's worth it. Oh you can also buy raw milk here legally, and it tastes amazing!

If you do decide on TN, you probably want to go to the eastern part due to the fault line in the western half.
