There is more than one advantage to vertical farming -- off the top of my head:

  • Less pesticides

  • Less laborers needed (easier to automate the framed environment w/ "robotics")

  • Less at risk to in-climate weather

  • More water-efficient

.... think of vertical farming like an electric car: they aren't necessarily better for the environment -- but they better at everything else (safety, speed, manufacturing, maintenance, driver experience, etc.).

Don't buy a Tesla to save the planet -- buy a Tesla because it's the best car that money can buy.
