Agreed. As a broke student I donated $20 to a charity. It only took a few years for them to spend it all on stamps asking me for more money every month.
I have always found people doing charitable work and given them money or supplies. For example, the lady I adopted one of my cays from fosters kittens. She does it on her own. I give her money every year even though she's not registered as a charity because I admire what she does and I know it can get expensive.
When u lived in another state, there was a lady who helped with Guinea pigs that were being abandoned at the ASPCA (who didn't know how to or care to learn to properly care for them) and helped rehome them. She refused money, but gladly accepted bolts of fleece she could use for washable bedding and cuddle cups I made her.
Direct donation is the best way. At least it will be going to who you expect.
Damn this community is retarded. Most people don't donate for any of those reasons. They do it to pay down their tax burden in a way they feel is more useful than bloated government spending. The smarter ones will start up their own charity and donate it to themselves. Every single jewish dude in any kind of e-celeb status does this after getting ass raped paying their taxes after they've gone full time and want to stay above board. It was pretty funny hearing a CSGO cheater discuss this with his viewers while he was floundering after he got banned from the biggest events where all of the money was at.
Your fellow man. Easiest answer. If your looking to get a tax credit then find something in your local community. The world needs more people like you.
Donate to people directly ... WHY the fuck would you donate for fucking organizations to PAY SALARIES from your DONATIONS ?
People do it because people are dumb sheep that DON'T THINK ABOUT ANYTHING !

Eh I got a rich grandma who wants to donate and I realized I didn't know any charities I was confident in. Just curious what people would suggest.

find a local foodbank or shelter
keep it local. look around your area and see who is doing the work or getting the results you want to support.
