During the Cold war there was an operation called Pedro Pan (Peter Pan) which the CIA performed a clandestine evacuation of up to 14000 minors from Cuba into the US without their parents.

One of the people was Miguel Bezos who would become a wealthy millionaire and worked with the then power house industry of oil and gas at ExxonMobil. He was a technical orphan at 15 and has no parents around him and is brought to a new country and he happens to get extremely wealthy and then goes on to help fund his adopted son Jeff's venture Amazon.com which then goes on to become a massive powerhouse and continually does work with the CIA etc.
