True, the entire sequence has not been found. The (low) standard is lots of substrands sequenced, with long overlaps. Then computer modelling.
In my humble opinion, if people want to reject that as a positive identification, that is completely reasonable of them. On the other hand, those with media coverage accept it ("it" being substrands jigsawed to assert a complete genome) and here we are . . .
