God loves gay people (biblical).
God condones the gay lifestyle (not biblical).
There's plenty of other behaviors that are a common part of our culture that are not biblically condoned that many people struggle with. Examples: use of pornography, excessive drinking, mind altering drug use, heterosexual intimacy outside of marriage, overeating, etc.
They are still redeemable, this passage reflects a prioritization of future mission efforts. Discernment needs to be applied, I'm not saying give sinners positions of authority nor to condone sin.
I was meaning to add on to you statement. You differentiated between what was acceptable and what wasnt I have no problem with that . I was going against the pastors in OPS posts and teachings that are not balanced . Ultimately the question isnt if God loves us he showed with his sacrifice Jesus, Its if we love God to sacrifice our lusts desires .
