After examining this photo a bit more, I realized there is also something interesting from a semiotic perspective....the only individual (not part of the group-literally) that is visually discern-able in the photo is Joe Biden. He stands by himself, while everyone else is part of a collective community (literally) standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Meanwhile, daylight is visible between Joe Biden and the "crowd"....could this could be symbolic of America's isolation from the rest of the global community....a visual analogy for America's surrender of world leadership....any other ideas?
