I just want to see if this is just me or has anyone else noticed the USPS being terrible.
Specifically in my neighborhood, over the last 10 years they constantly misdeliver mails.
But more recently, my wife and I still use checks that we mail to the electric company, internet service etc. We are old school, well because we are old. In the last few months they have not delivered checks to our various services on multiple occasions.
I know that the deep state wants us to not use checks, but is this a conspiracy? or is it just the post office in my area?
Absolutely terrible. I have a postman who is nice and does a great job. He knows my neighbor and I sign for each other and he will hit either one of up for both. His sub that works on the days he doesn't will mark packages delivered that aren't (I swear she tosses them in the trash somewhere), doesn't leave slips and just takes the packages back to the PO and they won't let you pick them up without a slip, and she marks properly addressed mail as 'no known number/address' so so many things get returned to sender.
I have submitted a handful of complaints and they say they don't have to deliver to the complex which is insane since I can't pick up packages from the PO without a slip. The more I complain, the worse it gets.
UPS and FedEx just lie about delivery attempts of anything remotely heavy. I report them and the support person just argues with me. I have cameras and I'm home all day. If I am not I leave a note to leave it with my neighbor.
They are all getting worse. Amazon is a nightmare, but that's a whole other story. I swear they hire people who can't read.
I'm considering paying for a UPS store box. I wish I could opt out of USPS.
A private mail service box is worth its cost. First, they get bulk batches for that address and this tends to keep mail from getting lost. Second, they accept packages and often have a good relationship with package carriers. Third, they often keep an accurate record of deliveries, so you can prove whether something was delivered or not unlike to your house door.
Amazon uses both
Before I decided to boycott Amazon, I got Amazon deliveries straight to the mailbox service.
Physical correction can solve or eliminate the problem.
The post office has been extremely awful since last October (election, anyone?). I work for a data processing facility that received mailed checks and we had a massive drop off last October and had to increase the frequency of mailed notices. It has gotten a little better since about January but not much. It could be a conspiracy. To take down the US, an unreliable postal system certainly helps, though much less than it used to since so many people have moved to electronic payments.
I do work for the post office. I can verify that the staffing is affected, but not just from pandemic. It is very hard finding people to work. It’s not just Usps though. I spent 15 years prior to post office managing a restaurant. It was the same there also. You have to hire 10 people to get 1 to stay. It’s hard to get rid of bad employees because that will drive away the good ones from overworking them. It should get better once the staffing levels are corrected. I am an optimist though
This is a problem with your local PO, put in a complaint to the postmaster there. Secondarily, get a PO box for all your mail delivery. It runs about $70/yr.
I would never use a UPS store box for my mail. They are franchises and you depend then on your mail to leave the postal system via the shitty carrier(s) you already know you have to deliver it to a minimum wage counter clerk to put in your box. Leaving your mail in the postal system means your mail is only handled by senior personnel, the ones who get to stay inside and not drive a mail viehicle or walk a route.
Good points.
Yes. Multiple important deliveries never came, multiple times each.
Yes, their new hires can't read, so they deliver mail to random other people. It's the expected and normal consequence of the leftist insanity infecting our society.
It never was
