To me, the failure points seem to follow the natural construction lines like Ronan Point in the late 60s in London. Just shoddy construction added to Miami sinking which has been known about for years.
Ronan point is the lower right picture, which I deliberately used as a contrasting example. Concrete boxes stacked together, no steels. You would still expect to see slabs of concrete and some intact boxes, rather than a pile of dust. Although I would be surprised that method of construction was used in this latest collapse.
