Ok here is a better answer, from a cbs article investigating the veracity of the claim that senomyx uses HEK 293 to test flavors
"Is this claim true? Neither Pepsi nor Senomyx returned calls, so we don’t know the companies’ side of the story. But a perusal of Senomyx’s patents suggests that it may well be. All but 7 of the company’s 77 patents refer to the use of HEK 293 (human embryonic kidney) cells, which researchers have used for decades as biological workhorses"
There seems to not be any arguement as to whether or not senomyx is using human embryonic kidney cell lines, only whether or not its ethical since the cell line originated from the same group of fetuses in the 70s and were thereafter cloned and are used in vaccines, beauty products and food products. Personally i find that a little ridiculous, there should be no market for human fetuses..
Do you have a source? I’m curious where these claims arise from.
Originally this article came out from thenaturalnews : https://www.naturalnews.com/049367_aborted_babies_flavor_chemicals_food_corporations.html But to verify, heres a link from NIH explaining what HEK293 cells (HEK stamds for human embryonic kidney) do, and HEK293 is used by senomyx to test the additives pepsi and nestle use (i got this wrong at first) : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15862464/ HEK293 cell lines are also used in developing flu vaccines, heres more info on HEK 293 from wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HEK_293_cells
