This is all by design, just another act of the play these Deep State assholes are putting on. Chauvin was given an unfair trial on purpose, so that the verdict could tossed out at any time, thus causing an eruption of riots across the country when he's let go. The Dems can play that riot card any time the other side doesn't want to cooperate, or they can just wait until it's politically advantageous to spring him.
