I keep getting authentication.win only when using my desktop not on mobile (hence I am able to post lol) for this site. Does anyone know why this happens? Am I losing my mind or missing something? I can access this site on my mobile but using any desktop I can't. Do I need to use a VPN or something? Thanks for your help!

It's the login page for the .win network.
You don't need one one, but, you really should be using one. Not just for this website, but the internet in general.
They're better than nothing, and suggesting otherwise is suspicious, imo. 99.9% of people do not have the know how or means to be OPSEC L33t, and you most likely aren't either.
There it is, saying TOR, lol. TOR was developed by the Five Eyes. You're a n00b, as well (we all are - unless you're a CIA agent). Stop trying to act all l33t, you dumb fuck. There is no escaping the spying, but, something is better than nothing. Are you 100% secured on a VPN? No. Are you 100% secure on TOR? No. But, something is better than nothing. Illusion? Partly. Pro's outweigh the cons.
Apparently being a certified Network Admin don't automatically means you have too much clues or interests in Privacy and Security. Don't worry, too many think they become experts in everything with a certificate.
I have uber colleagues that's wizard Sys Admins and Cisco Gurus. But they have no clue within Privacy and they don't care.
You have a few valid points about breaches. And of course you must chose a reputable VPN provider. But. Everybody get breached. Not everybody are open about it.
And no, you don't get 100% protection from using a VPN. But it's a cog in your system.
Us Privacy nuts have many cogs. I rarely recommend Reddit, unless it's /Privacy. Even though that Sub have lost some interest in Privacy since this Plandemic started.
It happens to me sometimes and I just refresh and try again and it works.
Ok thanks!
