I love a good conspiracy as much as anyone here, BUT, the same thing happened to me. His eye looks a lot like mine did with the cuts and stuff. I was wearing my glasses and the lens popped out and wasted my face. I'm an oldster too. These things happen.

I'd not thought about glasses being responsible for that kind of damage if one fell. Definitely worth considering.
