Anyone got any personal spook stories?
I have 2-3, but I’ll share an interesting one with you. My dad was an MP in the Army and moonlighted for the CIA in the late 50s because there was no major overseas mess they were fully staffed for where he was at, he’s 80 so this was early on. I’m not up on their history in terms of numbers, but my dad has never once in his life lied to me.
So, he was in Haiti and the Dominican Republic during their revolution running important people around and doing security in a remote post that was mixed in with CIA dudes. They were also flying ops and boat runs around Cuba. Lots of confusion he said. One day they’d be shooting across the river at people, the next in some remote airstrip doing security on an island he couldn’t recall.
I guess they had offices and a regular base somewhere and one of the guys couldn’t pass some rank test or certification in intelligence and one of the CIA dues overheard this and offered to help. Apparently this guy had a mental block and had studied, but just couldn’t pass the exam.
And so, the CIA guys offered to hypnotize him without study before he went in to take his next exam and he scored perfectly. The Army assumed he cheated because no one has passed with a 100% correct score. On the forced retest without being hypnotized he failed lol.
End of story.
I don't have any spook stories, but, I have plenty of paranormal and supernatural stories.
I have one of those. It’s kinda spook / paranormal or UFO like. Anyway, at 18 we moved into a house outside of Indy - a farming community. We lived next to a “doctor” who lived alone. I later found out he was a jet propulsion engineer a PhD doctor not a medical Dr. About a week after we moved in your typical black suit, FBI / fed agent man - someone came to the door to ask questions about the Dr. They said they were doing a background check and asked some weird Qs about the neighbor, of which I hadn’t really got to know outside of seeing him around.
They asked who came and went, any visitors, what cars he drove, etc. Basic stuff kind of. No one came or went and he lived alone, but had a storage container in his driveway for a couple weeks and then it disappeared. Just something I noticed.
So, a few years go by and I went off to college and this guy asked my mom to let his dog out while he was away on business. He was a nice dude and walked his dog but was a recluse for the most part.
She went and let the dog out and said his house was disgusting with hair everywhere, smelled like piss, dishes in the sink, place was trashed. Like hoarders met crazy person. Then she dropped the bomb on my and my brother and sister.
My mom is nosey as hell and noticed boxes piled up in one room to the ceiling taking up the whole room. I guess this guy had satellite images, pictures of flying saucers, all kinds of weird shit in boxes stacked to the ceiling.
Years go by and he pretty much kept to himself and one of the other neighbors said they checked on him from time to time as he was older and no one seemed to ever come by, like he had no relatives after everyone in the burbs watched him like a hawk for a decade because of the rumors.
One day this other neighbor hadn’t heard from him and went to check on the guy and found him with a plastic bag over his head. Crazy part was his hands were bound behind him, sitting at his dinner table with his face laying open on the book Space Odyssey. - and police said he died via suicide. The neighbor was first on the scene and a retired detective who lived on the other side of us. He said there was no way this guy killed himself as the rope was so tied 3 ways and bound it would have been impossible. He said it would have required at least another person as he had a rag in his mouth and his hands were bound with another plastic bag around then, and he said he smelled bleach. So, I guess he leaned down to look at his feet and under the table to investigate further and realized the bleach smell was coming from his hands. His feet were also tied to the chair with wire.
Within a couple days a moving truck showed up and collected all the boxes, left everything else and the house went into foreclosure. When the new owners bought the house we asked if they found anything weird and told them the stories. they said one room was completely empty, perfectly cleaned and the rest of the house had to be remodeled it was so nasty.
We still have zero clue what this guy was working on, or involved with, but our best guess was probably at the closest company that deals in this type of technology - Raytheon. It’s the only place that makes any sense.
