I agree that Merck is shit garbage, but this seems more like accidental honesty. Given that the tests are horrendously flawed, they probably just didn't realize they needed to fix the numbers. And with two vaccines already out, decided not to go back and fudge it.
There's as many as 16 billion doses to be made. I think there's room for more than two players in the market. Johnson & Johnson, and AstraZeneca are still going to market.
