I have a theory that the elite actually use the Ethiopian calendar.

The Ethiopian calendar new years date is September 11th and runs 8-9 years behind our Gregorian calendar so until September 11th 2020 it was 2012 in the Ethiopian calendar.The past year has felt like the end of the world in that the people who rule it are now out in the open about bringing in their new world system.
