This literally kills the US.

WTF are they thinking? Oh right, that was the plan all along.

Yep. If it goes through, they win. If it causes civil war, the US weakened enough to cement China as the sole superpower and they still win.

The only way they lose is if the civil war thing backfires so badly that it's over before it begins and just pisses off whomever is in charge to destroy china.

Why even bother with the charade of elections anymore? I know they want to keep the illusion of mob rule (democracy) going but they can save the time and energy. Just have the media joyfully tell us which puppets our overlords want as voting proxies and swear them in on one of Big Mike’s books.

They want those who are still gullible enough to trust elections to be able to "choose. "

Also, they won't have to cheat nearly as hard now. They will just find millions in California or New York to get whoever they want in.

The charade is a layer of protection. It's like putting up a gate before they can even get to a locked door.

In my opinion, the “currency” of population should not be a weighting factor in a federal election.

As such I think each state should get one, and only one, vote as the “citizen” organization at the hierarchical level just beneath the federal level.

A state is a state is a state, and each is just as equal to one another, as I am just as equal to my neighbor regardless of race, religion, wealth, heath or any other factor that can divide an entity.

You can’t amend the constitution without a constitutional convention right and don’t all 50 states need to ratify it?

I thought to ratify the constitution it requires a convention of states to do so? That Congress and senate can make laws but states are the only ones allowed to change the constitution?

It takes 34 states to call for a convention of states and 38 states to ratify an amendment proposed at the convention. conventionofstates.com

Congress can propose an amendment but needs a 2/3 vote to send to all the states. Then 38 state legislatures need to ratify.

I think it is inevitable and or president it totally makes sense. It would drive the president to the center.

But why stop there, make it a one term presidency for 6 years and let there be a vote of confidence (another popular vote) at 3 years. If the majority disapproves the term is limited to 4 years and a new election is held.

Pure realpolitik- if you knew you had the majority of the population in your pocket, why wouldn't you do the same thing?
