That's really interesting. Whoever that Senator is made the hand symbol pretty subtly, but obviously intentionally just as McConnell looked at him. My questions are:
Who is the Senator?
When was this?
What was McConnell talking about at the time?
Was there a shift at all in McConnell's speech or demeanor after seeing the signal?

This was in the Senate on 1/6/21 before the interruption. Watch the longer video. Whoever this is (looks to be a ginger), was trying to make this gesture to McConnell throughout his speech. He was getting his hands ready many times when he thought McConnell was going to turn around and see him.
I looked at pictures of everyone in the front row. Maybe it's John Thune or Chris Murphy? He nodded at when McConnell said the Democrats objected to Electoral Proceedings in 2016 though, which leads me to believe that this is a Republican. I think anyone that follows Congress could easily identify who this is, but that's not me. I would like to know though to have these gestures in mind when I hear this Senators name in the future. It would also be good to look at their background a little bit.
