Been making this point for a while now in regard to displayed psychology and emotions in movies/series/media in general...
The best way to describe hollywoods presentation of 'normal and acceptable' when it comes to emotions and psyhcology is stunted and child-like.
And the real large scale onslaught started with the advent of cable-tv and the current 'normal' when it comes to emotional displays and psychology is certainly a lot closer to the hollywood 'ideal' now than it was back in the 80's and even 90's.....
