False. This is fear mongering. I’ve had the virus and am perfectly fine now. The thing is though viruses of ANY type can trigger autoimmune diseases such as celiac disease. Which can then make a person very sick after just consuming wheat, barley or rye as the immune system views their protein as an invader and then attacks the body. Many people do not know they have it either and considering the majority of the population eats bread for every meal it explains the poor health in the US. The only cure is a gluten free diet so doctors don’t make money off a diagnosis of it either.
