It makes for some heated discussions, because the same can be said for the opposite. If you know someone to never have lied to you, how do you listen to someone that claims otherwise?
How much do these examples change when the person who lied/didn’t lie was someone who was expected to always tell the truth by default?

Yeah, but that’s not always the case right? And the question applies broadly to everyone. What one takes away from it is up to them. What we’ve come to is a time where lies are told, openly and with sincerity by so many people. It’s difficult to know the truth about anything. I have a hard time believing someone who has lied to me. That’s not to say I’ve always been honest...that would be a lie in itself. But it becomes an effort in futility to discern the truth from a lie when half of the people hate you for it, especially people I admire. I suppose everyone goes through it.
