It seems like more helicopters and/or planes are flying over my neighborhood. I'm in the U.S. Has anyone noticed something similar?
I apologize for posting this here. However, I don't have any social media accounts at all where I could post it along with a selfie or photo of my dinner.
I've cross-posted this from thedonald.win. I hope that's allowed.
I live in the big city and I've noticed it since a bit after covid. we have more jets ands awacs. we never had awacs before.
That's interesting. So have you seen awacs?? Or do you hear aircraft that you think are awacs? I haven't really seen these, because I often hear them when I'm inside. Even if I look out a window, it's hard to spot anything in the sky (trees and stuff. and sometimes it's night).
I see em. the airport isn't far, so I see take off/lamdings
I'm about 30 minutes from a military base, and it definitely seems like there's more helicopter traffic over my house. It might be confirmation bias, but I do think there's actually been a bit more than normal.
I'm 30min from an AFB Wich has always had rules against supersonic flights not over their own bombing range but lately we get a few booms every day. These aren't the muffled ones from over their own range, they're the window shaking, send your dogs hiding behind the couch booms directly overhead. But I can't say I've seen an increase in non military traffic.
Interesting. That sounds like what I am experiencing. Last night when I made my post I heard almost constant air traffic. It was like every 20 minutes. I am in a suburban bordering rural area. Not near a major metro.
I'm in a city, can't say I've seen more than usual but I do hear that military air traffic is up around the country.
Ah, I live in a suburban setting, bordering on rural. That is why I found it remarkable. It increased over the past few months. It's gotten to the point where at least one flies by every hour some nights, sometimes more. In fact, THREE have flown over between when I made my post and now.
I do not live near a major airport--based on the flight paths it wouldn't make sense for them to go to an airport. And these are propellers rather than jet engines. However, some of the glass even shakes in my house when they fly overhead.
Sounds like military traffic to me. What region of the country are you in?
