Summary of astroturfing: We all know it's a thing. But my take is that it's far bigger than we may believe it is.

Real world "Astroturfing" is also a thing when Israelis kidnap Palestinians and put them in captivity. The captives are first placed with plants who pretend to be prisoners while in fact working for Israelis. They befriend the real prisoner to extract information without integration.

BUT here is the twist. The first ones make it obvious that they are plants and ask obvious suspicious questions on purpose! So that when the captive is moved into another cell he thinks he is now with real prisoners and not other fake prisoners. This process could be repeated many times. Being moved from one fake prison ward to another.

Many think Reddit is the one infested with bots. Not realizing other smaller hang outs suffer from the same problem.

Some channels with few followers or influencers with small subscriber counts are also infested with this issue. Some of them almost have all of their comment section fake with bots.
