Here we go again. Jesus came to fulfill the law He Himself gave to Moses on Mt. Sinai btw, and establish a new covenant with everyone who follows Him (His Church), granting them eternal life. He resurrected on the first day of the week, thus defeating death and opening our way to salvation. Notice what He says multiple times about the Sabbath when reprimanded by the pharisees for working miracles on that day:
And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. - Mark 2:27
By defeating death, Christ made the world anew. He, the Second Adam, reversed the reign of death which came after the fall and gave Adam's progeny a new life. This is why when Christ fulfilled the OT and observed the Sabbath, the first day of the week became the day of worship and the feast of our new life in Christ. He didn't have to spell it out - it was revealed via His actions and by the Holy Spirit (who He sent at Pentecost) guiding the Church.
