Coal is the best source of generating a furnace. Humans survived an ice age using coal. Coal dates back to 3 million years ago where cavemen used it to create tools. The same tools they use to make electricity with today. Nothing has changed apart from even stupidier humans. They create climate change today and ban coal.

Coal as a natural resource isn't going anywhere. This planet produces it. It is less toxic than gas and fuel. Have they banned barbecues. Coke/Charcoal is coal. Burning log fires, burning green waste like trees and plants emit more than coal. Coal is the most economical means of making a furnace and keeping it at a high temperature. Hot enough to forge metals.

With coal extraction it pollutes, like almost all mining, but because coal is found abundantly it is less demanding than almost all other extraction of rare earth minerals and metals and precious metals these are far more environmentally hazardous.

Nobody has outlawed biofuel where wood chips incinerated like plastic waste and other garbage are more emitting than coal. Strangely these have increased all over the World as a means of renewable energy as coal has been banned. Hypocritically and gulliblely one is called a renewable the other a fossil fuel.
