Marx wasn't as bright as he is pictured in Western media. His description of communism was wrong and completely failed everywhere. However, the West thorougly build Marx version of capitalism, exactly by his recipes. And looks like today Marx capitalism is not only fully implemented in the West, but West do everything possible to spread Marx ideas about capitalism to the world.
Marx was absolutely sure, that society have to fully build "developed capitalism" before it will be able to make a revolution to his vision of communism. It was Marx roadmap - first, "developed capitalism", only then, socialism and eventually communism are possible. Marx was also sure that it will be a Western society who will do that first. He was very sceptical about possibility of socialism or communism in any other region.
Trotskists' key idea was that communist revolution is possible only worldwide, and it is impossible to do that in some separate country. So, adding Marx roadmap, Trotskists main goal for now is to build their "developed capitalism" all over the world first, to create necessary conditions for worldwide communist revolution.
And that is exactly what we see today. Western "developed capitalism" with Kaplans and Kogans at the top, attacks any country that don't want to fall to this bullshit. Look at the list of the "enemies" of the West - all that countries resist "developed capitalism" in one way or another and prefer some other way of development, that is completely different from the Marx roadmap.

Incorrect. Marx extensively critiqued capitalism and wrote that it creates inequality between the bourgeoisie (capitalist class) and the proletariat (working class). He wrote that capitalism would eventually lead to a revolution where workers would take control and establish a classless society.
