My criticism of these data centers - anyone in HVAC want to chime in? The official explanation of this water use is that they're using a glorified swamp cooler with in an open system (water is dumped out rather than recycled). It's seemingly the most inefficient cooling method. Why not use refrigerant, which has the added benefit of taking water out of the air? Are servers not sensitive to moisture? Seems like a front and why isn't anyone questioning this?
