Will technology change what it means to be human?

You don’t have to be a computer scientist to have discerning conversations about artificial intelligence and technology. We all wonder where we’re headed. Even now, technological innovations and machine learning have a daily impact on our lives, and many of us see good reasons to dread the future. Are we doomed to the surveillance society imagined in George Orwell’s 1984?

Mathematician and philosopher John Lennox believes that there are credible responses to the daunting questions that AI poses, and he shows that Christianity has some very serious, sensible, evidence-based things to say about the nature of our quest for superintelligence.

This newly updated and expanded edition of 2084 will introduce you to a kaleidoscope of ideas:

Key recent developments in technological enhancement, bioengineering, and, in particular, artificial intelligence.

Consideration of the nature of AI systems with insights from neuroscience

The way AI is changing how we communicate, implications for medicine, manufacturing and the military, its use in advertising and automobiles, and education and the future of work

How data is used today for surveillance, thought control

The rise of virtual reality and the metaverse

The transhumanist agenda and longtermism

The agreements and disagreements that scientists and experts have about the future of AI

The urgent need for regulation and control in light of the development of large language transformers like ChatGPT.

Key insights from Scripture about the nature of human beings, the soul, our moral sense, our future, and what separates us from machines.

In straight-forward, accessible language, you will get a better understanding of the current capacity of AI, its potential benefits and dangers, the facts and the fiction, as well as possible future implications

Since the questions posed by AI, daunting as they might be, affect most of us, they demand answers. 2084 and the AI Revolution, Updated and Expanded Edition has been written to challenge and ignite the curiosity of all readers. Whatever your worldview, Lennox provides clear information and credible answers that will bring you real hope for the future of humanity.

Will technology change what it means to be human?

Only change generates being...techno (artifice) logy (logic) manipulates the will of a being to ignore change, which continues until willingly resisted.

You don’t have to be a computer...for technology

Com (together) puter (to reckon)...putting artifice (techno) and logic (logy) together makes one a computer. The artifice becomes the input which allows others to use ones logic as a binary operating system.

Physical computer technology represents a distraction from the mental computer (ones consent) techno (artificial suggestion) logy (ones circular logic).

We all wonder

a) We cannot be all...only within all can each one join one another to form a we.

b) All cannot wonder because there's nothing more to all for all to wonder about. It's each one within all, who by ignoring all, start wondering about one another.

Wonder implies amazement aka ones mind stuck within a maze.

where we’re headed

Each one heads from inception towards death aka the living essence heading along the process of dying. Another one suggests pluralism (we) to mentally join many heads together to distract potential (living) within process (dying) with possession (draining life).

technology having impact on life

Holding onto techno (artifice) logy (logic) burdens life, which isn't an impact from outside, but a circumvention from within.

John Lennox believes that there are credible responses

Believing implies ones response giving credit (creed) to another.

questions that AI poses

Nature poses native > native shapes artifice > artifice reposes native. AI simply regurgitates all the stuff (questions and answers) natives ignore nature (solution) for.

in particular, artificial intelligence.

AI only works if one particular consents to the suggestion of another particular, which by joining together inverts particularity into commonality.

Only nature particularizes each from one another; while artifice communizes many under few.

systems with insights

Sys (together) stem (to stand) obscures each ones sight within. Insight requires proximity from one another so that each one can see what all offers.

The way AI is changing

The (theos; God) implies the one and only way of linear change for each native within all nature...artifice implies circumvention thereof aka AI regurgitating input to distract from change.

The urgent need for regulation

Regul (to move in a straight line) ation (action) implies nature regulating each native (life) within urgency (inception towards death). Living implies expression; the process of dying implies impression...this pressure implies urgency.

Few suggest technology to distract many from urgency with triviality, more specifically into a Trivial Pursuit of technology. It's as usual just a game... https://img.gvid.tv/i/Q43VGw6e.jpg
