That sect's beliefs would most likely be considered heresy by the main Catholic church. Same as Joseph Smith's claims in his Mormon books of nonsense as there's a similar claim to the Amerindians.
The stories didn't stop. Saint Luke continues the narrative in the Acts of the Apostles. The last chapter of Luke plus the first couple of chapters of Acts will get you up to the founding of the Church with the Sending of the Holy Spirit, fifty days after the Ascension.

And honestly, the stories are still going with how Jesus is acting through the lives of the Saints, the Marian Apparitions, and more.
