No. Bamboo is the fastest-growing woody plant on Earth, with some species growing up to 90 cm in a 24-hour period during its active shooting phase. This over a short window of 30 to 60 days in the spring, after which the individual stem reaches its final height and diameter and never grows again.
That is the shoots which have mature roots, though it does take over fairly fast, it still takes a while.
