If there was an apocalyptic event where everyone went underground to survive thus why there's so many tunnels and catacombs then wouldn't the Old World Buildings have overgrowth all over them? Most of the pictures of the Old World Buildings (aside from a very limited few) show the buildings with no overgrowth so what would have had to have happened would have been sudden.

I have a hard time accepting that our civilization built the structures we see today that we attribute anywhere from 900 AD to 1950 AD for construction. Then in the last 70 years we don't build anything like it and "lost the capability" because everyone just decided to build cheaply but prior to the last 70 years not a single person build cheaply unless it was a peasant's house? Then all of a sudden, guys like Elon Musk are living in meh ok houses... You'd think a trillionaire would be able to build something grand to live in. The architecture of these old buildings doesn't add up to me.
But I don't really understand what happened from "supposedly" the 1800s to now. Even the people seem questionable. We have stories of the difficulties our ancestors lived through and the stories of the intelligence many of these people had who invented so many of the same technologies we use today, yet most people today seem stupid and incapable of what our ancestors were. How could we be degrading so quickly over such a short period of time? Purely because of our technology? I'm not sure I buy that either.

Our grandfathers could build a framed house by themselves, but what would that lumber cost today, and does our soft fast-growing pine lumber even compare to old growth hardwoods from 100 years ago?

We also probably now have up to 90% of the population doing nothing useful in the real sense of the word where back then while they didn't have today's technology practically everyone was doing something useful.

Getting the materials to the sites in itself is a difficult task. The marble isn't exactly light yet the roads are all dirt. Where's the marble coming from? When you look into it, they're supposedly coming from hundreds of miles away. The logistics of transporting the materials for construction would be monumental given the supposed technology they have at this time (no cars). Yes, I imagine there's some skilled craftsmen that can even do some of it today but not in the time they say they are without any power tools (all by hand). And how many of these skilled craftsmen do you need? You'd need tons... so are these skills just something everything has? Look at the population numbers of the cities these buildings are going up in. Everyone in the city is a skilled craftsmen? Then why were none of these skills passed down? Where are the skills written in books? Sort of just disappeared...
It all could have been done. You underestimate that building homes and beautiful edifices was the thing they put all of their energies into.

Built in 1894 yet the City looked to demolish it in the 50s (why demolish this building?) and they concluded it would bankrupt the city to demolish it because the solid granite at the base is 22 feet thick. No problem to build in the 1890s... can't even demolish it in the 1950s.
Look, even if you want to say "we could do it back then" no problem, then clearly we're not so advanced today as we think we are. I get this theory but it's hard for me to fathom but I think it's possible as an explanation. Since I've been alive the quality of everything has decreased thanks to jews and that's just in my lifetime, perhaps the quality of everything was so much more 100 years ago.

If you presume we built America up and then a major event happened there, I'm quite positive there would be evidence of this event. I don't think they'd be able to scrub it from the history books so completely. Only thing I can think of is that Europe and America warred with each other and the mud flood was actually a European weapon that was so catastrophic it wiped most of humanity out in both America and Europe then Europe rebuilt first and then they went into America and whoever was aware of the previous war/event had the tech to repopulate the USA fast.

When I was young, I never paid it much attention but the last 3 years I've been working in Real Estate Development and building these buildings that were supposedly built in a year would be near impossible now. The tunnels were built by normal construction workers and methods. Most of the cities were being developed after steam powered earth movers were a thing, and engineers knew how to safely dig under foundations for a long time prior to that.
My city has been destroying parts of them, and blocking off others, as things get demolished and rebuilt. Where I work used to have a usable tunnel that went to an underground speakeasy during prohibition, with era salacious mural walls, when I started. It also connected to a few nearby buildings, still, at the time, and was at the same level as the freight elevator. It has been been blocked off and partially destroyed. That whole basement section predates the current building, above-ground, by several decades. There used to be a whole network, that connected to bus stops (now stairwells to isolated basements, but the bus stop locations haven't changed), and the train station.
Back when pedestrian and horse travel was the norm, rather than everyone having cars, and tractor trailer deliveries being common, the underground was where industry moved their goods, away from retail and commuter traffic. The tunnels weren't clandestine, they were just a boring matter of fact. Now, downtown industrial production in cities is rare as hen's teeth, but that was not so, from the late 1800s up into the 1960s.
Now, mind you, that's just the tunnel systems in the hearts of cities. On the whole, there's still massive amounts of things that don't add up.
