Lol, the woman was 80 years old and I assume her husband was even older.
One case study was that of a woman in her 80s referred to as 'Mrs B' who had complications after a coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
She went into severe decline and opted for palliative care, and was sent home from hospital with palliative support and her husband caring for her.
But as her condition got worse, her elderly husband struggled to care for her even with the help of visits by nurses.
'Mrs B reportedly expressed her desire for MAiD to her family. In response, and on the same day, her spouse contacted a referral service on her behalf,' the report read.
Why are we upset that a 80 year old got maid because her husband couldnt take care of her, and not that a 80 year old man was stuck trying to care for his terminal 80 year old wife. Lmao. At 80 years old, your wounds either close up, or they dont.
'The focus should have been on ensuring adequate palliative care and support for Mrs B and her spouse,' she wrote for conservative thinktank the Macdonald-Laurier Institute.
Meh, I was more interested in the comments the girl who doesnt look old enough to even have a doctorate was talking about.
'If George Clooney makes death look beautiful, sexy and noble, what message does that send to people who are sick, elderly or disabled?' she said.
I have been keeping up on that jolene case though, where the lady wants maid after suffering from hyperparathyroidism for 8 years. Last I read, she was being given high doses of vitamin d and calcium, basically what they have me doing as well, and its not helping let me tell you. (drink lots of milk and take vitamin d everyday lmao) Im pretty sure that fucked me as well because my blood pressure has just been high as fuck since I took those huge ass doses of vitamin d over a year ago. It was bad enough I finally agreed to some kind of bp medication.
“I have been taking high doses of calcium and vitamin D,” she told the Toronto Sun.
“This was recommended by the specialist from Toronto, and the surgeon in Florida agreed that this should be tried first.”
“If it brings my parathyroid levels down to low normal, then I don’t need another surgery.”
“I need an endocrinologist who deals with patients who need monitoring of their calcium, vitamin D, and magnesium levels and can adjust them as needed.”
Lmao, this is the bullshit they did to me too. Endo telling me (It took years for you to get like this, itll take years to get back.) Even though I explained I did alot of work outside.
In my personal situation, Im not even considering maid and after my appointment with a doctor earlier this week, he doesnt seem to be considering it either.
I told him I read about a woman who has normo calcemic hyperparathyroidism and he motions at the computer and says thats basically what you have been diagnosed with. I said yeah I know, ( you can see diagnosis online here, I was surprised there wasnt a bunch of bullshit on mine ), shes considering maid for her condition though.
The doctor looked genuinely shocked for a second.
I also mentioned the HS to him. Took off my shirt lifted my arms he took one look and said.
Yeah thats definitely HS. :shrugs:
So strange out of 8 fucking kids my father had, Im the only one I know of that has these strange immune system issues. Yet I rarely ever get sick, its fucked. I am apparently still infected with strep but have zero symptoms lmao.
