Good time to remind people that novel virus' may be deadly but are terrible at spreading to humans on their own (not evolved for it).
Existing virus' evolve to be less deadly because there's zero evolutionary advantage to killing the host. That's why monthly Covid deaths never increased above the initial levels even as cases skyrocketted.
Every plague in history coincided with unthinkably disgusting (by modern Western standards) conditions, including the Spanish Flu which arose out of WW1 trenches. Amerindians weren't exposed to tuberculosis at rates higher that Europeans, they were just living on a starvation diet beforehand.
Also: "Five infected, nearly 100 quarantined (zero dead)" in a country as densly populated as India means diddly shit.
With all that in mind: yes, shut down travel from India.
