Sex and the City was gay culture being sold as if it were straight culture, so they wanted someone who (we'd now say) looks trans.
That's because women's culture is just a rip-off of gay culture with extra male hatred. It's why gays absolutely despise women in their spaces. Because they just invade and make everything about how they hate men.
Women have never had a culture outside of hating men until gay culture came around and they ripped it off.
Interesting fact, FL ruled that women are allowed in gay nude spaces. Meanwhile, they pretend that they care about privacy and security while letting fujoshis harass gay men.
