Is Jesus Christ the Lord and the God of yourself and of the universe?
Please answer YES with any testimony, or decline to answer. This is a question between action (YES vote) and inaction (no vote); a NO vote is the same as no vote and is technically unnecessary.
This poll methodology is recognized to be unscientific but is better than nothing. Thank you for your responses. I recognize that many distrust poll testimony and believe in other methods of individual or group activity. However, this is not a group action question but a question of individual experience, so it's not a matter of consensus but of collection of testimonies that need no consent or validation from anyone else.
If they were last moments we wouldn't have the known fact about the experience, would we? Your position is backed by NDEs, not actual death experiences. Now, if you've read the two classic works on the subject, Life After Life and Imagine Heaven, you'd know that even with NDEs there is too much going on to attribute it to simple oxygen deprivation. But that's a sideline of evidence, the evidence starts with you believing you have a purpose, which you evidence every time you respond here.
That last line is so stupid. If you only get one life, doing the right thing is even more important.
Important for what? Other people who also cease to exist at death? Where is your purpose unless something important exists outside you? (Hint: Something more important than what you were told in Catholicism, something you have the power to discern better for yourself all the time.)
Important because it'll make the only life you have better.
You don't want to spend the next two decades of your finite lifetime living under the ideology of paid shilling cuckold Kaarous, who despite being an unhinged lunatic that absolutely nobody listens to even here, somehow managed to grift himself a spot writing government policy.
Your life is an exercise in projection.
Better according to who?
Paid shilling? Citation needed.
Sounds like you have strawmanned him.
Who listens to you? Besides JosephALTa and Dontupvotethis?
Baseless claim.
There is no "better" if it'll be "like you never existed". You have no permanent bettering and all your investments turn to dust. Doing the right thing or the wrong thing doesn't change anything if it's all dust. There is no standard of good, so everyone does what is good in his own eyes and you have no power to judge natalists for being "bad" because they're following your same rule in seeking to do the right thing to make their only life "better" as they define it. Perhaps you'd like to find a definition of "good" that works for both you and u/Kaarous, before you mouth off that you know "better" and he doesn't? (He at least likes to see me trying, I'm sure.)
So you didn't (can't?) rebut the parts before the last line?
Nope, because nothing matters then. What do you get out of the right thing? Why not seek dopamine? How do you determine a right thing?
To the contrary, if there is an Afterlife it is most important.
