Here, the issue is that Gish didn't actually use the Gish gallop because he had so many good refutals of the same lines of opposition at once that they claimed they were all inaccurate and weak. A better neutral term for the tactic intended is "elephant hurling" because that applies whether the arguments are weak or strong. I do see that elephant hurling seems to be going on today ....
