For the sake of order and understanding all previous posts regarding moderation will be listed below. It would be nice to have all ongoing discussion in this one central post that I'm speaking in right now. I will chime everyone that has expressed actual interest in actual discussion.
The goal is to have community consensus to the best ability regarding a new mod to be active, I have reached out in modmail and PM'd Clem so they are aware if they are in fact currently around.
I'm requesting to be mod and am open to questions in that regard. For those that don't know me, I've been here since this community was created via an invite from the original mod, Axolotl Peyotl and have been active the last 5 years. I would hope my reputation has shown it's own proof that I care for this community and members, if not, I am willing to provide assurances to any concerns.

Obviously “no politics in trending” is a line of horseshit.
So, it seems likely the admins won't care if we remove the political flag from the board and don't bother flagging individual posts.
Still waiting on clarification, but assuming that when u/Paleo said:

Good idea. Yet "we" don't have the power to remove the flag, nor to approve Conspiracies for Trending, which requires that admin be motivated in favor of this idea. And if we didn't flag individual posts, admin has repeated declared motivation against the idea.
To recapitulate, we could easily declare consensus that we need 2 or 3 mods, that we would like admin's consent to mod them after we deliberate about who they are, that the mods will remove the Politics general flag so admin can add us to Trending, and that the mods will mark the few political posts as "NSFW" with a sidebar explanation that this means "Not Safe For World" which we have redefined as meaning they are political. Anything short of that doesn't seem to meet the goal you suggest (of the admins letting us be).

Asking as just today Tinae again twisted what I said into "your issues" <--- as you SR know, that is a common ploy for those who have NOT liked others in the past, & look for any chance... to --> personalize anything whatsoever to you, make you the Problem, so I can ISOLATE you & easily simply ban such people <---- But since Tinae invited me to post in her group re the sordid Conspiracy history of the AMA et al, AND I aim to Avoid... her choosing to be pissed off yet again, is why I Ask in which other group can I ask YOU for Explanations... of some things in this seemingly bizarre place ? Right now the status is that the whole forum is political by default. IIRC, this would be a good time to ask u/Thisisnotanexit if she would like to remove the Politics flag from the description and then to mark politics posts as NSFW, if the community agrees. This would give more app visibility but might lead to some misunderstanding, and would require her to set the meaning of what is political (much discussion of cabal can be charged as "political" rapidly).
I honestly think free thinking and open mind are pretty clear; it merely means not judging others negatively for their opinions, and therefore treating people respectfully even when you disagree.
I wouldn't take the phrase "your issues" as an important indicator, it appears only an attempt to ask you for specifics just as you like to ask others for specifics. I understand if that phrase has been misused in your past experience. I haven't stepped into that convo because you two seem to be negotiating well. She is open to questions and has a greater burden of transparency now, and so you can ask her anything in place; you can ask me anywhere also, whether here or c/CommunitiesConflict or c/ReputationCampaign or c/Meta (where others would chime in too).

Looking forward to your thoughts in good time. It appears then that my proposal about how to get Conspiracies in Trending might be right on point:
