Being (life) fronted (inception towards death) implies ones passage of life. That's why the saying "proof is in the pudding/putting"...it's the measuring of probability, which tempts one to ignore the ongoing passage aka the pass-over.
As for doobie/doob/dub... https://biblehub.com/hebrew/1727.htm it's about carrying during passage, hence burdening self, when holding onto suggested temptations.
It's not just about smoking the drug/droge - "dry" as a solid (life) within a fluid (inception toward death), but the ritual of sharing & carrying sin, while taking a hit. It's also called a "joint", because of the sharing aka ones consent to the suggestion of another. "Don' t Bogart the joint" tempts each other into sharing the self imposed burden.
In short...tempting others to hold onto represents the "operation" which distracts one from being passed within a moving "matrix".
