Funny thing about honeypots online is that information is still shared and while data is collected about you -- in fact encouraged to share information so that data can be monitored -- but the consequence of this is that small thread that allows some activists to escape and plot tangibly. So we endure the acknowledged trap to stay as well informed as possible the while preparing for the inevitable loss of freedom -- in case we decide to break free.
