Here's a little psychological trick for you. When someone insults you without any proof and imagines some incredible scenarios... They are not insulting who you are, they are presenting who they are. So, it's obvious that you were the dork and you want to overcompensate that by putting online users down. Perhaps it makes you feel good for a moment.
