Some theoretical concept and its implementation could be a very different things.
Remove, say, "money could make money without anything useful created" idiocy from current implementation of capitalism, and you could find it pretty decent thing.
I'm not a fan of capitalism concept, but I'm sure it could be implemented as pretty fair and nice system of people relations if done with wisdom and good will.
Shrinking population will kind of stabilise things, I think. You precisely named "guaranteed growth" here. Most gambling and pyramids are based on the "guaranteed growth", more precisely on "promise of guaranteed growth". Without guaranteed growth it will be much harder to gamble, pyramid, usure and rentier. Meanwhile it could be one of the reasons of all that immigration flood that was created by elites - to continue profiting from promises of guaranteed growth.
Of course, shrinking population is a bad thing, a sign of a degradation of society, but it could play well against elites if immigration flood will be stopped. And as soon as things become better, then people will began to breed again. And there will be a huge challenge to not allow elites to hijack economy again.
Whichever form of governance you adhere to, the fractional banking system subverts it as well. It distorts all that you believe and understand. Fiat money is reverse debt that leaves you doing all the work, and giving away your profits. It corrupts every aspect of your life. There are no exceptions.

You are basically right, but I adhere to a system where money is obsolete and profits have no any sense. :)
I just think that creation of "replicators" of whatever principle is inevitable at some level of technological progress, so the whole concept of money or currency will cease to exist.
This will not be ideal society too, but it would be much harder to manipulate people, who are completely independent and could make anything they need on demand, using classic greed-and-need-based methods.

It works very well in a moral society. Immoral people take advantage to cheat others.
Even in a moral society it will be hard to get rid of overproduction and underproduction narrow places and influence of inventions and development.
Society have to be not only moral, but also very conservative. Kind of what Amish have.

Exactly. Very sustainable

People who don't perform choose not to. If they weren't born with easy button then they should be greatful too. Enjoy what you got.
Free capitalism is the only thing that makes sense. Period. Regulations should be done with more community power, leveraging technology.
But since Twitter is for screen addicts and the world is just trained consumer slaves, it will never be possible to self regulate free markets
To imple-MENT a concept implies different minds consenting alike. A concept equalizes differences...if one consents to it.
