For each target group special follower and opposition groups are created that follow certain narratives. To make these groups stronger, the agencies try to find ways for the groups to "confirm" these narratives. The social media can give feedback on how well the manipulation is working.

The ways to manipulate could be using censorship to make a person seem more relevant. Or promoting people that support a certain group narrative, but have weird ideas about something else. This is then followed by attempts to create internal fighting.

The way people discuss can often reveal how bad people are caught in the web. First a discussion should go about reality or a real event. Then discussions should avoid logical fallacies.

But almost all the news, shows and movies bring us discussions that are not about any reality, and mainly use logical fallacies. That is by design. People do not even know how to have a normal conversations. If you talk to people that have hardly seen television, you will notice that they they have actual conversations.
