A good friend went to China for a month and said it was amazing. The people were friendly and genuinely happy. They don't have tent cities and drug infested dens like here and billions poured into incredible infrastructure.

Well, Chicago and NYC and Denver are wonderful places as well, as long as you're not in the wrong neighborhood after nightfall, or broke.

China is not a high trust, low crime, place like Hungary or Japan. Sorry.
