As bad as the USPS may be, they do provide service to areas that do not have the population or wealth to be serviced by private postage, and they are not nearly the top in government waste. They also don't actively hurt us like many government institutions. Getting rid of them seems to be part of an agenda of herding people into the cities rather than being some realization of an ultimate small government philosophy
