Result of Iran's and Russia's gambles is losing Syria and with that their only naval base in the Med, their main staging ground for their moves into ME and Africa (Russia) and it's supply route to Hezbollah and Hamas (Iran).
As a bonus, we might finally get that pipeline from the Gulf to Europe and that will really fuck up Russia.
It also showed once again, that Russia is not a reliable ally which will move the power dynamics globally.
