This is interesting but not the reason. The real reason is because of Israeli desires to control gas pipelines throughout the middle east.

Israel found a massive natural gas field of the coast of gaza. The ultimate goal is for Israel to supply natural gas to Europe - thus Israel destroyed the NordStream Pipeline (via the US) and are setting the groundwork to become a major natural gas supplier to the world.

Gas pipelines, offshore gas, oil etc... are ruses for the goyim and a lubricant to grease the hands of their shabbos goys. Greater Israel and the subjection of all opposition is the true goal.
The dead sea is sitting on vast oil reserves but they don't even touch it. They have all the money they want.
My understanding is that greater Israel is not an economic powerhouse and is NOT independently wealthy. Instead Israel relies upon tribute from the USA, Rothschild's, etc. Through selling natural gas Israel can be an economic powerhouse
It's bigger than that. The greater Israel project is set to become the number one country in the world and much, much more than independently wealthy. Jerusalem is set to be the new center of the world after the old powers are sufficiently weakened. America will be divided up and will no longer be the power it is now after it has served its purpose.
I am not talking about next year but about the ultimate goal that will take years to fruition.
It will become the new Ottoman empire. It will be the hub and center of all trade routes. That alone will give it enormous powers. It will also supply the world with food and grains through Ukraine. It will link up with Ukraine region after dividing up Turkey and Russia. It will also control regions along the Nile river. And it will control and supply the oil of the middle east. After Syria's fall and later Egypt and Iran. Gulf oil countries will be up for grabs and will be 100% owned by Israelis.
I've read for a Jewish politician once and he was saying something like: The Arabs are stealing OUR oil!!! The Jew not only wants to steal the oil of the middle east, but he even considers it to be his already!!
Natural gas, pipelines etc.. are just stepping stones. The same way the British empire was once a stepping stone and then discarded. USA is also a stepping stone.
