Don't believe shit. Use scientific method and observation. Confirm for yourself.
Oh, you mean like this:
Note: Flat Earth morons both disbelieve (paid to) and believe (every day observations) the existence of the horizon.
Question: does the calculated 'd' match the observed 'd'
Calculated d
The tangent (my view to the horizon) , which is d, is at right angles to the line of the earth's radius R. That is what a tangent is.
So there is a right-angled triangle:
a^2 + b^2 = hyp^2 : Pythagorean theorem
R^2 + d_to_horizon^2 = (R + my height)^2 : stick in our, my variables
R^2 + d_to_horizon^2 = R^2 + 2Rxh + h^2 : expand (a + b)^2 to a^2 +2ab + b^2
d_to_horizon^2 = 2Rxh + h^2 : remove R^2 from both sides
d_to_horizon = sqrt(2Rxh + h^2) : sqrt() of both sides
d_to_horizon = sqrt(2Rxh) : same
d_to_horizon = sqrt(2x 6360,000 x 2) or = sqrt(2 x 6360,000m x 2 + 4m ) : same
d_to_horizon = sqrt(2x6360,000x2)
d_to_horizon = 5044m = 5 km.
Observed d, d_to_horizon
Where I live, on the beach, there is an island about 5 km away. (thanks google maps). The horizon is slightly behind that, when viewed from the beach. I will be generous and say that the observed horizon is 6km (and also that the horizon actually exists).
Next time, maybe today (watch for an update) I will look for the horizon from the sea-line.
anyway, roughly correct:
No, the slope. As in at what rate is the horizon curving.
Also, center of earth. You assume the earth is a globe before starting your math.
You're right to use trig, just need to stick to what you can observe. Here, I did this analysis to show trig, next to a simple linear slope, because for distances less than 200 miles, the linear fit is close enough and much easier to calculate. Here, I did this on excel https://anonymfile.com/RY3xB/8-inches-per-mile-squared-analysis.xlsx
Now that you know the slope, the rate of curvature, you can begin thinking harder about what that should look like if the earth was a globe. I doubt you're following. But if you're capable, then tell me the answer:
If a boat that was 20 feet tall went out to sea, and you are 2 m tall standing on the edge of the shore, how far could the boat go before you should not be able to see it because it's behind the curve?
You can also use any number of curvature calculators online
is it a line or a slope? you don't know the difference.
faggot Flat Earth faggot assumes a flat Earth
Sorry bub, you aren't at my level, intellectually. Sadly, you think FE are about as stupid as they come, yet, can't even handle a convo with me.
Get a brain, fag
you are constantly lying. the absolute prerequisite for being a flat Earth moron.
no .
I showed that observation matches the human race's thousands of years knowledge of the circumference of the Earth. observation matches claim.
every correct demonstration would have a faggot Flat Earth scumbag saying : the correct proof assumed the correct observation. that is you.
say your thing about balloons holding up the stars again. one more time. show what kind of person you are.
I agree with all the people who know: you are a worthless fucking moron.
if you weren't so stupid you would see that I did stick to what I - and anyone else - can observe. I matched my own personal observations - that anyone can reproduce - with the claim. of course they match because the claim is true. if the claim was not true they would not match. they matched.
your broad-band ignorance stretches to ignorance of the scientific method.
I am suspecting that you are an institution and allowed to use the computers and the internet. and here we are.
After reading this twice, I can't see any claim or point you made. It's just bitch
You convinced yourself that I am lying before listening. This is a waste of time
