Lots of good people have tried, some of which we'll never know about because, as it turns out, you need a massive following and money to even learn about a candidate. To put the money part in perspective, Trump is a billionaire and he still took money from donors to fund his candidacy, even though he could've funded it himself if he was truly willing to sacrifice for his country.
And that brings to me to another point: taking money from donors makes you beholden to them, not to the people who voted you into office. Trump's donors are already saying that he's not going to do mass deportations and I guarantee you that he's going to listen to them before he'll uphold his promise to the millions of people that put him in office.
Pretending like the people can fix America through elections is foolish
You say that like it's a bad thing. I would trust anyone here as a dictator more than I would a politician in our current system.
I would trust people randomly chosen by lottery more than the current crop of politicians, but I don't trust anybody here. Axel maybe.
